The Seaside Seabird Sanctuary was originally founded as the Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary, and we took over operations in 2016.
We treat between 3000 and 4000 birds in our Marie L Farr Avian Hospital every year, from doves to hawks to pelicans!
We provide educational services to our local community through onsite and offsite events, including private tours and field trips as well as farmers markets and school visits.
Our most commonly admitted patient is the Brown Pelican, which is widely found in this area and along the Gulf Coast of Florida.
There are 100 non-releasable birds that live on campus in our display enclosures due to permanent injuries, illnesses, and/or disabilities.
We often have public releases, where the general public is invited to see our rehabilitated patients fly back out to the wild! Keep an eye on our Facebook and our events page to see when our next one will be!
